The tool your business needs, built to order in about four weeks.
You describe the job that isn’t getting done — the spreadsheet everyone dreads, the paperwork that eats a day a week, the enquiries that go unanswered. It gets scoped properly, quoted fixed, and built by someone who’s spent 40 years on the tools rather than in software.
Start with a £750 scoping session. Fixed price, and you own the code.
Autaimate builds commissioned software for UK businesses — one tool, built to fit one job, for the way that business actually works. Commissions start with a £750 scoping session, then run at a fixed price from £8,500, typically live in about four weeks. You own the code.
What we build
Five things, in plain terms — with something live you can go and poke at for each one. Find the one that sounds like your problem.
Calculators
Free, standards-compliant tools trades bookmark and come back to.
Built to the actual regulations — BS 7671 cable sizing, voltage drop, circuit design — not generic maths dressed up. Fast, free, and built to rank, so the right customers find you through them.
50+ BS 7671 calculators, live and ranking.
Inspection apps
Speak your findings on site. Leave with the report already done.
Voice-first apps that turn a site visit into a finished, standards-referenced PDF before you leave — and work fully offline, so a dropped signal never costs you a day’s work.
Offline-first BS EN 1176 playground inspections, for RPII inspectors and councils.
AI front-of-house
An assistant that answers your customers — and never lets an enquiry slip.
It answers only from your own material and the answers you have confirmed, so it can’t make things up — safe to put in front of paying customers. Anything it can’t answer becomes a captured lead, texted to you and chased. And every gap it finds becomes a question you answer once.
Grounded AI front-of-house, live for its first customers.
Platforms & portals
Full multi-tenant platforms, built around your workflow — and you own the code.
When you need the whole thing — logins, dashboards, admin, reporting — we build complete platforms to a premium engineering standard, not stitched-together templates. Proper tenant isolation, built to feel finished, not prototyped.
A multi-tenant platform, each customer with their own branded, admin-controlled build.
Bespoke AI builds
One self-contained system, tailored end to end.
When off-the-shelf won’t cut it: an AI that knows your product inside out, qualifies the lead, takes the sale, and books them onto training or events — all in one conversation, all running itself, all grounded so it can’t invent specs or pricing.
A current bespoke build for Matt at Laserstrip.
Services, and where we work
Three ways of describing the same job, depending on how you think about it — plus the county we’re based in.
Business automation
Replacing the manual processes that eat a day a week. What can be automated, what shouldn’t be, and how to tell the difference.
Custom software development
Built for one business, priced like a product. Including the cases where buying off-the-shelf is the cheaper and better answer.
AI automation
Systems that answer only from your own confirmed material and hand over rather than guessing. Grounded, not clever.
Cornwall
We’re based in St Austell and work across the county — Truro, Newquay, Falmouth, Penzance, Camborne, Bodmin, Liskeard, Launceston and Bude.
How we build
We don’t build software looking for problems. You bring us a real one, we scope it tight, and we build the thing that solves it — nothing you didn’t ask for. Five steps, roughly four weeks, fixed price.
Discover
A UK business brings us a specific problem the existing tools don’t solve. We listen to the shape of it — who it affects, how often, how much time or money it costs, and why the obvious fixes haven’t worked.
Validate
We confirm the problem is real and worth building for. If it’s a one-off workflow quirk, a spreadsheet solves it. If it’s a proper recurring pain, we build.
Build
A focused tool that does one thing exceptionally well. Fixed scope, fixed price. No feature creep. No "while we’re at it, let’s add..." — that’s how 4-week builds become 4-month builds.
Launch
Priced for small businesses, not enterprises. You get a working product and you own the code — no licence we can revoke, no platform lock-in.
Iterate
Real customer feedback shapes every update. The product keeps getting sharper. We don’t chase features — we sharpen the specific problem it was built to solve.
Built by someone who’s been on the tools
Autaimate is a one-person product studio with four decades of UK industry experience behind every build. Plain-spoken, direct, and happy to push back when a commission doesn’t hold up.
40 years on the tools before writing code.
Mick spent four decades in UK construction and trades before founding Autaimate. The work isn’t theoretical — it’s built by someone who knows what a site looks like at 7am in January, what paperwork an EICR inspection actually generates, and why generic construction software ends up in a drawer.
Everything we ship is in real use.
These aren’t concept demos. TradeCalcs is used daily by UK electricians. Voice-first inspection tools turn spoken findings into compliant reports. AI front-of-house is live for real customers. The work earns its keep.
UK-built, UK-hosted, UK-focused.
No offshore development teams. No outsourced support. Every build hosted on UK-friendly infrastructure (Cloudflare, Neon EU) with UK data residency available on request. Built for the regulations and expectations that apply here — not translated from elsewhere.
Security and compliance aren’t an afterthought.
Every Autaimate build follows the same published standard: Clerk authentication, pgcrypto encryption for Article 9 data, Row-Level Security on every tenant table, signed URLs for file storage, uniform GDPR responses, audit logging on every state change. We don’t hide how we build — we stand behind it.
Frequently asked questions
Everything worth knowing before you commission a build.
What does Autaimate build? +
Autaimate builds five kinds of software for UK businesses: standards-compliant calculators, voice-first inspection apps, grounded AI front-of-house assistants, full multi-tenant platforms and portals, and fully bespoke AI systems. Most builds are fixed-price, typically live in about four weeks, and the client owns the code.
Who is Autaimate’s software for? +
UK small and medium businesses in construction, trades, property, lettings, care homes, hospitality, playground inspection, close protection and other regulated or underserved industries. Every build is shaped around one specific audience — not a generic business customer.
How is Autaimate different from generic SaaS platforms? +
Generic SaaS flattens every industry into the same workflows. Autaimate builds each product around one specific job — its regulations, its language, its pricing reality. A BS 7671 calculator built for UK electricians is not the same as a US electrical app with a Celsius toggle, and small UK businesses know the difference.
What does it cost to commission a build? +
Fixed-price, scoped per commission. Pricing is set before the build starts and doesn’t change on the fly — no time-and-materials meter running. Most commissions are delivered for a fraction of what enterprise software houses charge for equivalent work.
How long does it take? +
Typically four weeks from kick-off to live product. Some builds are shorter, some larger scopes take longer — but four weeks is the rhythm we design to. Faster than enterprise consulting projects and slower than throwaway no-code builds, by design.
Do I own the code if I commission a build? +
Yes. When a commissioned product ships, the client owns the code and the product. No licence we can revoke. No platform dependency that locks you in. You decide what happens to it next — keep it private, share it with peers, or expand it into its own SaaS venture.
What technology stack does Autaimate use? +
React 18 with TypeScript and Tailwind CSS on the frontend. Hono on Node.js or Cloudflare Workers for APIs. Neon PostgreSQL with Row-Level Security and pgcrypto encryption for data. Clerk for authentication, Stripe for payments, Resend for email, Cloudflare R2 for files, Cloudflare Pages for hosting. Modern, secure, UK-compliant from day one.
Is Autaimate GDPR compliant? +
GDPR compliance is built into every product from the first commit — not bolted on later. Encryption at rest for Article 9 special-category data, audit logs on every state-changing operation, uniform responses on delete endpoints to prevent enumeration, and a documented security posture for each build.
Where is Autaimate software hosted? +
Primarily on Cloudflare Pages and Workers, at the edge. Data sits in Neon (EU region available) or at the edge via Cloudflare Workers when latency matters. UK data residency available on request for commissions that require it — particularly for care, legal and regulated sectors.
Does Autaimate work with US or international businesses? +
Autaimate is UK-focused by design — every build is shaped around UK regulations, UK language and UK pricing norms. International businesses with UK operations are welcome to commission builds, but we do not localise for markets we do not know well. Our moat is specificity.
Got a job the existing tools don’t handle?
Every build starts with a conversation like this. Tell us what’s slowing your business down, and we’ll tell you straight whether it’s worth building something for. Pick whichever way works for you.
